Prominent Hackensack Surgeon's Police-Equipped Car Reported Stolen

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack police were investigating the apparent theft of a car belonging to a prominent physician and police surgeon.

The Ford Crown Victoria belonging to Dr. David Bikoff was equipped with a "police package" of emergency lights, a police radio and other features. It was reported missing Thursday afternoon, responders said.

Bikoff, 67, who is affilated with Hackensack University Medical Center, practices plastic and reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery and surgery of the hand.

He has tended to serious injuries to countless police and emergency responders and has received numerous humanitarian honors from law enforcement agencies throughout the state.

"Any time any of us have ever needed anything, he's there," one officer told Daily Voice. "He immediately responds."
