PROSPECT PARK, N.J. — The first Narcan save of 2017 came for the Prospect Park Police Department on Jan. 3.

Officer Jawad Hataf administered 1 dose of Naloxone to a 27-year-old Ringwood man being monitored by Sergeant Amy Perlmutter and Officer Canestrino around 7:20 p.m., according to a police report.

When officers arrived at the Brown Avenue residence, the victim was lying unresponsive on the living room floor, police said.

About five minutes later, the victim came to but refused medical treatment when the ambulance arrived, and was not transported to the hospital, police said.
