The woman told police she was walking through a small parking lot on Althea Street near the intersection of Van Houten Avenue when she was assaulted by the pair -- one of whom was holding a handgun, Lt. Robert Bracken said.
"Sometime during the encounter, a shot was fired from the handgun," Bracken said. "However, no one was struck."
The robbers then fled empty-handed in a car, he said.
