Segundo “Paul” Ocon, 37, fled the Market Street apartment after stabbing 48-year-old Barriga Huaya twice in the torso, leaving the knife behind, before dawn last Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Deputy Chief Heriberto Rodriguez said.

Huaya was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, they said.

Detectives tracked down Huaya at an East 27th Street apartment early Thursday and charged him with murder and weapons counts, Valdes and Rodriguez said.

He remained held without bail in the Passaic County Jail pending a court appearance in Paterson on Friday.
