The crash, between Russell Avenue and Cedar Hill Avenue, tied up the late morning commute.

The driver 2008 Smart Car Four Two — identified as 20-year-old Israel O. Amaya of Hawthorne — sustained minor injuries, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said.

A witness told police that Amaya “inexplicitly drove out of his lane of travel into the barrier,” Fox said.

Responding officers “detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle,” then found a small amount of pot in the car, the chief said.

A blood sample was later taken at the hospital, Fox said, adding that Amaya was issued summonses for driving while under the influence, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle.
