“There was a readily available public restroom for patrons within several feet of this unexcuseable, disturbing and senseless act,” Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“It’s one thing to not be able to make it to the bathroom in time and relieve yourself within your pants,” the chief added. “But it grossly crosses the line of decency and becomes perversion when you knowingly manipulate and expose your private part and urinate in an area like the lobby of a Dunkin Donuts, and with people present, including a young girl.”

Police issued a summons to Thomas Meyers of Paterson and released him pending a court hearing, following the 4:30 p.m. incident at the Pehle Avenue shop.

Detective Capt. Vincent Laurentino investigated.
