Jason Castillo, 30, was carrying a prescription bottle with 16 pills, as well as two hypodermic syringes, when officers stopped the 2008 Honda Element at 1 p.m. Saturday on Hamburg Turnpike, Capt. Laurence Martin said.

Officers Michael Polifrone and David Hoppe were conducting safety and security patrols in the area's commercial district when they spotted the "animated actions of the occupants," Martin said.

Castillo "began acting impulsively and irrationally removing some clothing and directing the officers to search him," the captain said.

After being arrested, Castillo was relesaed on a summons charging him with hindering apprehension and various drug-related offenses, Martin said.

The driver was released without charges.
