RIDGEFIELD, N.J. – Governor-elect Phil Murphy Tuesday tapped Assemblywoman Marlene Caride of Ridgefield to be Commissioner of the Department of Banking and Insurance.
“Proud to announce @MarleneCaride as NJ’s next commissioner of Banking & Insurance. As the President & Congress look to gut healthcare & financial protections, NJ needs leadership that is focused on the needs of consumers and small businesses,” Murphy wrote in a Tweet Tuesday.
Caride still must be confirmed by the full Senate.
Since 2012, Caride has served as an Assemblywoman for District 36, which includes the Bergen County municipalities of Carlstadt, Cliffside Park, East Rutherford, Little Ferry, Lyndhurst, Moonachie, North Arlington, Ridgefield, Ridgefield Park, Rutherford, South Hackensack, Teterboro, Wallington, and Wood-Ridge and the city of Passaic in Passaic County.
