WAYNE, N.J. -- Battlelines are being drawn over full time kindergarten in Wayne and supporters are counting on a new wave of voters to push it through, reports northjersey.com.

A presidential election brings out more voters and proponents are hoping they will be in favor of the $2.1 million program, reports northjersey.com.

Full day kindergarten was struck down by residents last year, 5,048-to-4,455, reports northjersey.com.

For the 2016-17 school year, parents can enroll their children in an additional half-time kindergarten program for a $250 monthly fee, reports northjersey.com.
