Wayne Students Catch Reading Fever By Creating Pumpkin Characters

WAYNE, N.J. -- Kids at Albert Payson Terhune Elementary School produced an array of painted pumpkins that inspire them to read.

They were instructed to turn the gourds into storybook characters.

The resulting artwork was displayed to highlight the designs and promote October's Scholastic Book Fair.
