WAYNE, N.J. — Carolina Panthers tight end and Wayne native Greg Olsen will return home to New Jersey when his undefeated team takes on the New York Giants Sunday, Dec. 20.
The Panthers, 13-0, will try to stay perfect when they face the Giants, 6-7, at 1 p.m. Olsen has 65 catches for 969 receiving yards, was team leader in both stats and six touchdown catches.
Olsen, 30, graduated from Wayne Hills High School in 2003. He played football at the University of Miami and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft.
He played football and basketball in high school under his father Chris Olsen Sr. He finished his career with 73 receptions for 1,474 yards, and a school-record 27 touchdowns. He played in the 2003 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was one of three finalists for the Gatorade Player of the Year award.
