PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. – The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced the Barbour Pond Boathouse in Garret Mountain Reservation will be rededicated in honor of the late Pasquale “Pat” Di Ianni at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Di Ianni was a longtime advocate for Passaic County, helping form the county History and Tourism Board and founding Passaic County Vision 2020.
He also was behind the push to designate the Great Falls as a National Park and was appointed commissioner to the Paterson Great Falls National Historic Park by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
He remained a dedicated volunteer, helping to bring the Passaic County Fair to Garret Mountain.
The Clifton resident died in August 2013 at the age of 85.
