Wayne To Kick Off Holiday Celebrations

WAYNE, N.J. -- Wayne will have its annual tree lighting ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3 at the municipal building.

Rain/snow date: Friday, Dec. 4.

The schedule: 

  • 6:30-7 p.m.: Holiday music with the Wayne Hills High School Chamber Choir.
  • 7 p.m.: Opening greeting with Russell Schubert, director of parks and recreation.
  • 7:05 p.m.: Welcome with Mayor Christopher Vergano, introduction of dignitaries and tree Lighting.
  • 7:10 p.m.: Holiday singalong.
  • 7:15-8 p.m.: Time to visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus; more holiday music played by the Wayne Hills High School Chamber Choir under the direction of Cara Palomba, director.
