Clifton's Salomé Café Perks 'Strong' In DVlicious Coffee Contest

What Makes It "Strong": Sandra Mesguich and her husband Laurent made many trips to Philadelphia to taste-test coffee before deciding on the three blends from La Colombe that they wanted to serve at their cafe.

"We did a lot of research on coffee," Mesguich said.

The neighborhood cafe they opened 18 months ago is known for its French pastries, flavored lattes and espresso shots but their decaf is also quite popular.

"People tell us it's one of the best they've ever had," she said of the Monte Carlo blend they serve.

For those needing more of a jolt, there are double espresso shots and sugar-laden lattes like salted caramel.
