PATERSON, N.J. — Happy birthday to Paterson's Jemal Johnson.
Johnson turned 31 on Tuesday.
The soccer star was born on May 3, 1985.
Johnson was born in Paterson, but moved to Macclesfield, England at the age of 5.
The striker scored his first senior goal in his first start, the Blackburn Rovers' 3-0 win against Colchester United.
In August 2007, Johnson moved to the Milton Keynes Dons and scored a critical goal in the Dons' Football League semifinal victory, before the team ultimately won the Football League Trophy in Wembley Stadium.
In the fall of 2013, Johnson returned to the northeast, joining the New York Cosmos. Due to injury, he only played one game in his first season, but played in 20 during his second season with the club, scoring one goal with two assists.
Last season he played with the Jacksonville Armada.
