WAYNE, N.J. — An unexpected guest gave one Wayne resident quite a thrill one recent Sunday morning, according to a report in NJ Advance Media for NJ.com.

Kevin Scott has been living in the town’s Mark Valley area for more than three decades, but until Sunday had never seen a black bear on his street, according to the report.

And this wayward critter was hopping 6-foot-tall fences, and just about anything else that got in its way, all around the neighborhood, Scott told NJ Advance Media.

The surprised homeowner told NJ Advance Media that police were investigating sightings of the furry invader. Meanwhile, he was keeping a close eye out while walking the family pooches, the report said.
