Alice Mae Durocher, 79, Of Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- Alice Mae Durocher of Hawthorne died on Dec. 2. She was 79.

Born in Garfield, she lived in Passaic and Clifton moving to Salisbury, NC for 12 years, before returning to Hawthorne one year ago.

She was a member of Grace Church in Clifton and was a librarian assistant for 13 years at the Clifton Public Library on Piaget Avenue in Clifton before retiring in 1998. She was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury, NC where she sang with the Contemporary Worship Choir. 

She is survived by her children, Robert Durocher and wife Leslie, and Christopher Durocher and partner Jim Bulanda; grandchildren, Ondria and wife Aleksandr and Brittany and husband Cory; great-grandchildren Balian and Sabine; her siblings, James Caratenuto and wife Eileen, Joseph Caratenuto and wife Maureen; Adriana Holm, Janet Macaluso, Bonnie Wyczynski, and Patricia Caratenuto. 

She is predeceased by her son, Daniel; and her siblings, Evangelisto Caratenuto, William Caratenuto, Russell Caratenuto, Angela Caratenuto, and Joan Roedel. 

The family is accepting donations for the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge or the Choir Music Fund at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 West Innes Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.

All services were privately held by the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield.
