Kathleen E. Patacsil, 51, posted $35,000 bail and was released on theft by deception charges after detectives arrested her Wednesday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Acting Chief William Fraher said.

She waived a first appearance and the case will be sent to a grand jury for indictment, they said.

Patacsil was CEO and board secretary at the Community Charter School when she diverted the money "for her personal benefit," Valdes and Fraher said in a joint release.
