Paterson Detectives Crack Teen's Killing With Arrest

PATERSON, N.J. -- Paterson police detectives solved last month's shooting death of a 16-year-old city resident in a drug den with the arrest of a 23-year-old man on murder charges.

Jarvis Porter, of Jefferson Street, also was charged with the attempted murder of a 17-year-old companion of Kasir Davis, who was killed in the Feb. 4 shooting at an Auburn Street apartment house where drugs were sold, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.

Porter also was charged with robbery and weapons offenses.

The investigation was continuing, Speziale said.

Working the case are Lt. Daniel Rooney, Detective Sgt. Joseph Delgado, Detectives Benny Ramos, Jason English and Mary Martinez, Detective Sgt. Abe Hamdeh, as well as Detectives Angel Perales, Dave Posada and Anthony Aceste of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
