Prosecutor: No Serious Injuries In Police-Involved Shooting In Paterson

PATERSON, N.J. -- Authorities on Saturday confirmed that they were investigating a police-involved shooting the night before in Paterson in which a civilian was struck.

"The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Shooting Response Team has been activated for a police-involved shooting that occurred on October 14, 2016, in Paterson in the area of Oak and Madison Streets," said Chief Assistant Passaic County Prosecutor Mary Catherine Ryan of the Public Integrity Unit.

"One civilian sustained non-life threatening injuries that have been treated," Ryan said early Saturday. "The scene has been secured and the investigation is active and ongoing."
