Sheriff: Paterson Business Owner Sold Heroin From Grocery Store

PATERSON, N.J. — Detectives charged a Paterson businessman with running a heroin operation out of his Carroll Street grocery store, authorities said.

Detectives found 250 glassines of heroin valued at $1,000, along with $6,000 in alleged proceeds and drug paraphernalia during a raid Wednesday at Chelo Grocery Store, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.

They arrested the owner, Jose Paulino, 49, on various drug charges.
