The citizen pointed investigators to Crosby Street and Sheridan Avenue and a white Jeep Cherokee that was being used to transport the drugs, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said Thursday.

As they watched, 18-year-old Jose Miranda Jr. approached the Jeep holding a large plastic bag and pulled out a vacuum-sealed bag filled with marijuana that he showed to the driver, Alexis Feliciano, 31, Berdnik said.

Feliciano put the bag on the front passenger seat as Miranda got into a black Lexus, the sheriff said. Both vehicles then drove off, he said.

As detectives were stopping him, Feliciano threw the plastic bag into the back seat, Berdnik said.

Approaching the vehicle, they could smell the pot, he said.
