Easy Victories Come For Passaic County Incumbent Freeholders, Surrogate

Democrat incumbents handily held their seats in Passaic County government in Tuesday's elections.

Freeholders Terry Duffy (91,601) and Pat Lepore (60,661) combined for 64% of the vote -- with more than 98% of the ballots cast counted.

Republican challengers Stephen R. Arienta (51,189) and Tafari Anderson (50,600) combined for 36%. There were 86 write-ins.

Meanwhile, Democrat Surrogate Judge Bernice Toledo, with 87,978 votes (62%), defeated Repubican Terri Reacher, with 52,022 (38%). There were 45 write-ins.

Incumbent Democrat Sheriff Richard Berdnik also cruised to victory.

All totals were unofficial.
