Clifton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which opened in 2012, experienced a flood on Dec. 17.

“The school was informed a couple days ago that the repairs will not be covered by the landlord and if $5,000 will not be raised by January 7, the school will need to shut down,” Erick Ramirez wrote on a GoFundMe page created to raise funds for the school.

The school currently has more than 40 students “showing steady growth,” he wrote.

About $2,500 had been raised by Friday morning.
