She starred for Paterson Eastside before making her way to Division I Old Dominion University.

But there was always a place in her heart for boxing.

Next month, Green, 26, heads to Astana, Kazakhstan, where she'll compete in the 2016 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in the 178-plus pound weight class.

"Winning is my main focus. My biggest goal right now is becoming No. 1 in the world," she told Daily Voice from inside Wall Athletics in Oakland. "I won't come home short of my goal. I will have the gold medal," she said. "I will be No. 1 in the world, mark my words."
