A 43-year-old Medford man told police his wife was sleeping. But it turned out, authorities said, he had murdered her.
A jury convicted Babu Natarajan of murder in the first degree on Monday, April 14 in the 2023 death of his wife, Angammal Babu, authorities said.
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Medford Township police responded to a home on Regent Court and found the body of Babu on the bed in the master bedroom, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said.

Two people from Elizabeth, including an 8-year-old girl were killed in a crash on Route 295 in Burling County on the evening of Sunday, April 6.
At 10:17 p.m., a Hyundai Santa Fe and Hyundai Tucson were traveling northbound on Route 295 in Florence, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey Police said. The Santa Fe struck a guardrail, re-entered the roadway and collided with the Tucson, Lebron said. The impact caused both vehicles to run off the road and strike several trees, Lebron said.

A New Jersey Department of Corrections lieutenant in charge of managing state ammunition stockpiles was charged with stealing and selling taxpayer-funded ammo for personal profit, authorities said.
Timothy Morris, 56, of Bayville (Ocean County), who served as NJDOC’s Range Master, is accused of illegally ordering excess ammunition and selling it on the secondary market, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced.
Morris allegedly pocketed more than $475,000 through this scheme while attempting to conceal his financial transactions, prosecutors said.

Edward Deveaux, of Berlin Township, was arrested on February 25, 2025, in Lviv, Ukraine, by Ukrainian authorities working with the U.S. Marshals Service, officials announced.
