Michael Quartey, Tropical Bowl Founder, Voorhees Sports Agent, Dies Suddenly At 47
Michael Quartey, a devoted father, attorney, professor, and the force behind several major college football bowl games, died suddenly on May 15, 2025, his family confirmed. He was 47 years old.
Quartey, of New Jersey, founded the Tropical Bowl, FCS Bowl, and National Bowl, giving under-the-radar athletes a real shot at pro football careers. Over the past 15 years, his events drew scouts from the NFL, CFL, UFL, and beyond.

Walgreens Announces Dozens Of Upcoming Closures, Including In New Haven County
Walgreens announced this past fall that it will close about 1,200 stores over three years amid a decline in prescription drug payments and a rise in online competition.
About 500 of those closures will be in 2025.

Three Camden County men were arrested and charged up with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material on popular websites, authorities said.
Angelo Stevenson, a 29-year-old Cherry Hill resident, Trevor Mirek, a 30-year-old Somerdale resident and William Zane, a 28-year-old Collingswood resident, were arrested between Wednesday, April 30 and Tuesday, May 6, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay, Cherry Hill Police Chief John Ostermueller, Somerdale Police Chief James Walsh, and Collingswood Police Chief Kevin Carey said.

A driver was arrested after his truck crashed into a residential building in Cherry Hill on Tuesday, April 15, authorities said.
At 11:57 a.m., officers responded to a crash near 1800 Burroughs Mills Circle, Cherry Hill police said. While the incident appears to be isolated and unintentional, police said, the driver, a 37-year-old man from Schenectady, New York was arrested.
Police did not name the driver nor say why he was arrested, citing "the ongoing nature of the investigation."
