A Paterson man was killed and four others were injured in a mass shooting in Newark late Monday, June 23, authorities said. At 11:40 p.m., Newark police responded to 367 6th Ave. and found five individuals struck by gunfire, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Woodland Park Man Sold Fake Apple Products: Prosecutor
A 63-year-old Woodland Park man was arrested and charged with selling counterfeit Apple products from his electronics store in Orange, authorities announced Monday, June 23. Mahmoud Salim was selling more than 100 phony Apple products, including AirPods phones and accessories from his store, Super Star at 309 Main St., Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. A 39-year-old Newark man was convicted of sexual assault on Friday, June 13, after he coerced women into having sex with him, claiming it would protect them from gangs, authorities said. Salaam Leeks sexually assaulted three women in 2015 and 2016 in Newark by falsely claiming that the victims and their families were in danger from a street gang, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said.
