50,000+ Lose Power In Maryland As Storms Pound Region, BGE Says
More than 50,000 residents in Maryland were without power on Thursday amid the ongoing storms rolling through the region.
Crews were working around the clock on June 19 to repair more than 800 active outages that were impacting nearly 55,000 customers, according to Baltimore Gas & Electric.

Two Maryland State Police K-9s are recovering after a suspected drunk driver slammed into their handler’s cruiser, flipping it on a Harford County highway, authorities announced.
It happened around 3:20 p.m. Friday, May 16, on Route 155 near North Earlton Road in Havre de Grace, State Police said.

A sentencing date has been set for the man convicted of raping and murdering 37-year-old Rachel Morin along a popular Maryland trail, prosecutors announced.
Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, Aug. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at Harford County Circuit Court in Bel Air, according to the Maryland Judiciary case search.
