Bus, Cars Collide, Topple Utility Pole In Monsey, Cause Outages
Several people were hurt and power outages were reported after a crash involving a bus and two cars brought down a utility pole in a Rockland County neighborhood.
The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the intersection of Hilltop Place and Highview Road in Monsey, according to The Monsey Scoop and Ramapo Police.
Emergency crews from Hatzoloh EMS, Spring Hill EMS, the Monsey Fire Department, and Ramapo Police responded to the scene.

Fatal I-684 NY Plane Crash: Witness Stopped, Pulled Victim From Wreckage, New Report Says
Federal officials have released more information about a small plane crash on Interstate 684 at the border of Fairfield, CT, and Westchester, NY counties.
The information, which centered on a fatal plane crash on I-684 on Thursday, Dec. 12, was released in a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Rockland County resident and commercial pilot Jacob Yankele Friedman of Monsey, age 32, was killed in the crash, while the 26-year-old private pilot, Kalmen Goldberger, of Linden, NJ, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Monsey Man Caught Spray Painting American/Israeli Flag, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man was caught in the act of allegedly defacing a joint American/Israeli flag with spray paint, police said.
The incident occurred in Rockland County around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the Monsey area of Ramapo.
According to Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, a patrol officer spotted the man wearing a face mask while walking on Main Street in Monsey.

Man, 42, Nabbed In Burglaries Of Hudson Valley Synagogues, Police Say
A man has been charged in connection with the burglaries of three Hudson Valley synagogues.
Joel Jungries, age 42, of New York City, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 23 in connection with the burglaries that took place over two weekends earlier this month in Monsey.
According to Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, Jungries illegally entered and stole property from the synagogues, all located on Monsey Boulevard and Suzanne Drive.

Serial Burglar Of Hudson Valley Cemeteries, Synagogue Nabbed, Police Say
A New York man has been charged with five separate alleged burglaries that occurred in the Hudson Valley over the past three months.
Maurice Deutsch, age 40, of Brooklyn, was arrested by the Ramapo Police on Friday, Nov. 10, for the burglaries that took place in Rockland County in the village of New Hempstead and the Monsey area.
According to Det. Lt. Christopher Franklin, of the Ramapo Police, on three occasions, Deutsch had entered a building on the grounds of a cemetery in New Hempstead and removed proceeds from a charity box.
