Route 42 Chase Ends In Woods With K9 Takedown, Stolen Truck Had Bullet Holes: Police
A South Jersey man was arrested after leading police on a wild chase in a stolen pickup truck with stolen plates, authorities said.
Detective Matt Franchi saw the vehicle — a white Dodge Ram with stolen license plates — on State Highway 42 on Tuesday, July 1, at 12:30 p.m., Washington Township (Gloucester County) Police said.
Franchi, along with Detective Barnett and Officer Sadowski, tried stopping the truck outside the US Gas station at 5321 Black Horse Pike. When they turned on their emergency lights, the driver took off, jumped the median, and sped north on Route 42, police said.

A 19-year-old former soccer player has been identified as the person struck and killed by an NJ Transit train on Tuesday, May 27 in Summit.
At 1:28 a.m., Morris and Essex Line train 6907, which departed New York Penn Station and was en route to Dover, struck and fatally injured Dylan Faulkner, NJ Transit said.
A native of England, Faulkner moved to Summit at the age of 12, attending middle school and high school there, according to his obituary. After graduating Summit High School, he attended university back in England, his obituary reads.

New footage shows the same mangled Honda Civic that was slammed by an NJ Transit train in Bergen County casually cruising down the Garden State Parkway — without its bumper, trunk lid, or license plate.
The Civic, which was struck at the Fair Lawn Avenue crossing on Thursday, May 22, was spotted by Ahmed Kasab near the southbound lanes near the Bloomfield toll plaza.
Kasab, a mechanic in Paramus, was stunned.

Man Struck, Killed By Train In Middletown, NJ Transit Says (Update)
A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Tuesday morning, May 6, near Middletown, suspending service in both directions along the North Jersey Coast Line, officials said.
The incident happened at 9:06 a.m., when train 3223, which had left Penn Station New York at 7:44 a.m., hit a trespasser just west of Middletown, NJ Transit said.
The train was scheduled to arrive in Long Branch at 9:23 a.m., and was carrying about 50 passengers and crew, none of whom were injured.

A 44-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged with punching and spitting on a NJ Transit crew member on Wednesday, April 16, authorities said.
At noon on a train from Trenton to New York Penn Station, Tyquan Gibbs, refused to provide his ticket upon request by a female crew member while the train was stopped at Newark Airport, NJ Transit officials said. After refusing to provide the ticket, Gibbs spit on the woman, punched her, knocking her to the ground where he continued to punch her, authorities said.

A woman was fatally struck by a train in Wayne on Saturday, April 12, authorities said.
At 2:57 p.m., a Montclair Boonton Line train, struck and fatally injured the woman, who was trespassing, east of the Wayne Route 23 Transit Center, NJ Transit said.
The train, which departed Hoboken at 1:58 p.m., was en route to Dover at 3:30 p.m., NJTransit said. There were no injuries to the 27 customers and crew on board, NJ Transit said.

An intoxicated driver who crashed into a utility pole and bus stop on Route 4 in Bergen County on Sunday evening, March 30, was arrested and charged with after fleeing the scene, authorities said.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. on Route 4 East at River Road, Bergen County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kyra Pazant said.
The vehicle struck a utility pole, a guardrail, and a NJ Transit bus stop, snapping the pole on impact and sending live wires across the River Road on and off ramps, Pazant said. The right lane of Route 4 East and both ramps were shut down.
