New Long Island Restaurant Cited For Stylish, Scrumptious Offerings
A new sushi and omakase restaurant on Long Island has left its mark on diners with its boutique-like atmosphere and tasty dishes.
RŌZU, located at 21 South Park Avenue in Rockville Centre, first opened its doors in March of 2023 but has already garnered lots of attention for its ambiance, service, and food.
Guests are greeted with two wide, looming trunks in the middle of the restaurant, which boast dozens, if not hundreds, of flowers. Murals adorn the walls, and multiple chandeliers hang over the tables.

Duo Caught Red-Handed: $50K Recovered After Attempted Long Island Scam, Police Say
Two men who attempted to scam a Long Island woman out of thousands were intercepted by police thanks to the potential victim’s quick thinking, authorities said.
On Wednesday, May 3 at about 4:15 p.m., a Rockville Centre woman, age 69, received a call from someone claiming to be her grandson, according to the Nassau County police.
Another person, who introduced himself as “Michael Waller,” told the woman he was her grandson’s attorney, and that he needed $17,000 cash in order to bail her grandson out.

Bank Robbery Spree: Suspect Nabbed After String Of Incidents In Nassau County
A suspect has been apprehended after a string of bank robberies and attempted robberies on Long Island that started in early January.
At about 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, the suspect, identified as Willian Andrade Jordan, age 31, entered the Bank of America in Baldwin, at 2300 Grand Ave., approached a teller, passed a note threatening a gun and a knife and demanded three thousand dollars, Nassau County Police said.
The 29-year-old female victim walked away from her station and Jordan fled the scene on foot without receiving any proceeds, according to police. No injuries were reported. …
They Targeted Corner Lots: Duo Charged In $150K Burglary Spree At Long Island Homes
Two men are facing charges in connection with a string of burglaries on Long Island.
Joshua Mellado-Gonzalez, age 32, and Mauricio Fuentes-Jimenez, age 31, both of Queens Village, were arrested by Nassau County Police on Thursday, Dec. 29.
Investigators said the pair was responsible for a dozen break-ins around the county in November and December 2022, most of them occurring at homes located on corner lots.
The burglaries were reported in multiple areas, including Valley Stream, Lynbrook, Elmont, West Hempstead, Rockville Centre, Roosevelt, and Baldwin.
