Two men have been arrested and charged with attempted murder after a man was shot during a robbery in Orange County, authorities announced.
The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, on Barcelow Street in Port Jervis, according to Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden and Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
Police say John J. Selja, age 22, and Andrew Delrio, age 26, confronted the male victim, stole property from him, and then fired multiple gunshots, hitting him.

A Hudson Valley man who admitted to causing a head-on Orange County crash while driving with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit will spend years behind bars, prosecutors announced.
Michael Falkena, age 42, of Sparrowbush, was sentenced in Orange County Court on Wednesday, Feb. 5, to three to six years behind bars after pleading guilty to first-degree vehicular assault, Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced on Friday, Feb. 7.

A movie based on a theater program at a maximum security prison in the Hudson Valley is making history by becoming the first film to be screened in prisons across the country, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
"Sing Sing," based on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in the Northern Westchester village of Ossining, will again be released in theaters on Friday, Jan. 17. A Hudson Valley code enforcement officer and fire investigator has been charged with allegedly possessing materials showing obscene sexual performances by a child.
Orange County resident John Orr, age 60, of Pine Island, was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 6, following the execution of a search warrant by the New York State Police and the town of Warwick Police on Glenwood Road, in the Town of Warwick, said Trooper Steven Nvel.

Thomas Dinan, a police officer in West Milford, died on Tuesday, July 30, 10 days after his 66th birthday, the department announced.
Dinan joined the West Milford Police Department in June 2018 as a Class II special officer, assisting with traffic details, township events, prisoner watches and transports and court security, police said.
