We asked for your top picks for our DVlicious "Best Soup in Passaic County" contest and whittled it down to three finalists. Each is being profiled this week with the winner selected Monday, Feb. 22. Here’s a “bowl-ful” rundown on one of them.
Jackie’s Grillette, 55 East Main St. Little Falls, N.J. (second location, 614 Valley Road, Upper Montclair, N.J.)
Number of Soups Offered: Two to three daily. Usually a lemony lentil (a customer fave), chicken noodle, vegetable, beef barley, and, once in a blue moon, French onion.
Worth Dishing About: Jackie’s menu is Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-centric with dishes like hummus, babagahnouj and lamb kufta or chicken kababs. A casual bistro-like place, it has been owned and run by multiple generations of the Arsheed family.
