The New York woman killed by her husband in a murder-suicide last week was a dedicated nurse who aspired to open her own practice.
Gabrielle “Gabby” Forman, 30, was “a deeply loved daughter, sister, family member, godmother, and friend whose presence touched countless lives,” Dr. Angelia Major wrote in a GoFundMe for Forman’s family.
“Gabby dedicated her life to caring for others,” Major wrote. “Her loss has left an immeasurable space in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.”

British actor and singer Tim Curry died late Tuesday, Aug. 25, at his Los Angeles home, TMZ first reported. He was 80. Police were called to the home late Tuesday, and no foul play was suspected, according to TMZ, which first reported the news.
No official cause of death had been announced as of Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Curry became a cultural icon as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” after originating the role onstage.

A Rockland County community is rallying around a family after a well-known mother of two died following a more than 12-year battle with cancer.
Orangetown resident Jamie O'Connell died on Tuesday, Aug. 25, after battling cancer for 12 and a half years, according to her loved ones.
O'Connell was remembered as a devoted mother to her two children, Kensie and Kellan, and a loving wife to her husband, Kevin.

Abused Dog Found With Open Wounds, Fly Infestation In New York: Authorities
A Long Island man was arrested after his dog was found infested with flies and suffering from open wounds, authorities said.
Cecilio Matthews, 50, of Bellport, was charged with several counts of animal cruelty under state and county laws, the Suffolk County SPCA said Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Investigators determined earlier in the month that Matthews had failed to care for his 10-year-old mutt, Seven, leaving the dog neglected in a yard, according to the SPCA.
