CLIFTON, N.J. -- Two bandits dressed completely in black -- one of them carrying a gun -- robbed a Clifton grocery store clerk Friday night, authorities said.

The gunman chambered a round as the pair, both with their faces covered, entered the Center Street store around 9 p.m. Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.

The robbers forced a store employee from the back of the store to the counter, demanded all of the cash and fled with an undetermined amount, he said.

Anyone who saw something, or who has information that could help police, is asked to contact the Clifton Police Detective Bureau: (973) 470-5908 .

Callers can remain anonymous, Bracken said.
