Clifton PD: Bogus Gas Station Pump Jockey Caught In Cash, Cigarette Thefts

CLIFTON, N.J.– A thief caught stealing money and cigarettes from a Clifton gas station tried making believe he worked there, police said.

Responding officers found a damaged entrance and 21-year-old Mohammed Kayed, who pretended to be an employee, shortly before midnight Sunday, Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said Tuesday.

A judge ordered Kayed held on $20,000 bail in the Passaic County Jail, charged with charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and theft.
