Fairfield PAL Offers Trout Derby For Students Up To 15
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Police Department's Police Athletic League has scheduled its annual Trout Derby for 9 a.m. Saturday, according to organizers.
The two-hour event is to take place at Gould Manor Pond, 740 Holland Hill Road, Fairfield, officials said.
Open to students ages 3-15, the Trout Derby is free to enter, according to organizers, who said registration for the event begins at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the derby.
While Jimmy O's Bait and Tackle is to provide a limited amount of bait, all Derby participants must bring their own fishing equipment, organizers said.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Darryl Strawberry, a former Major League Baseball all-star whose career was plagued by incidents of drug abuse, is to speak about his road to recovery at Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.
During the 7 p.m. event on April 18, Strawberry is scheduled to give his talk, “From Strikeout to Recovery and Hope,” according to a statement from the university.
The presentation, which traces Strawberry’s struggles with substance abuse and details his “commitment to recovery,” is free and open to the public, according to the school.

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Journalist, author and Blind Brook High School graduate Daniel Barbarisi is to discuss his new fantasy sports book, “Dueling with Kings,” at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library.
The event, presented by the Vincent Barbarisi Memorial Fund, is scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 23, organizers said.
