Save The Dates: Here Are Gridlock Alert Days For Rest Of Holiday Season With the holidays nearly here, the New York City Department of Transportation is encouraging area residents to utilize public transportation whenever possible. Each year, the NYC DOT designates Gridlock Alert Days, which mark some of the busiest traffic and travel days on the calendar. Report: Deadliest Highway In New Jersey Runs Through Passaic County The deadliest highway in New Jersey runs right through several municipalities in Bergen and Passaic counties. According to data from the New Jersey Department of Transportation and State Police, the Garden State Parkway is the deadliest in the state, with 32 fatalities occurring on the highway last year, NJ.com reports. Highway fatalities were up in 2016 from 2015, and experts say that's because there is more traffic, the article says.
