The search for a missing Maryland man in Shenandoah National Park has ended in tragedy.
The body of Robert “Bob” Bieri, 61, was found at 12:13 p.m. on Monday, July 7, near Lewis Falls, where he had last been seen, Shenandoah National Park officials said in a statement released Monday afternoon.
Bieri, of Severna Park, was reported missing on the evening of Saturday, July 5. He was last seen off-trail in the Lewis Falls area, according to park spokesperson Allysah Fox.

Nearly six weeks after a Putnam County man disappeared without a trace over Memorial Day weekend, his wife is turning to the public for help in keeping the search going.
Patterson resident Felix Rosales Bonilla, a husband and father of two daughters, went missing from his home on Barnard Road in Patterson on Sunday, May 25.

A 66-year-old woman has been reported missing in Valley Stream, Nassau County Police said.
Lisa Bieri was last seen on Sunday, June 22 around 7 a.m. on West Valley Stream Boulevard, according to the Missing Persons Squad. Police say she was reported missing the following evening, on Monday, June 23 at 6:54 p.m.

A woman reported missing in Washington, DC, was found dead in a dumpster just days later — and now a 58-year-old man is charged with her murder, federal officials said.
Donnella Bryan, 62, was last seen around 12 p.m. on April 17, in the 300 block of N Street NE, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. She was the subject of a critical missing person alert, issued the following day.
Her body was discovered just two days later, on April 19, inside a trash dumpster in the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue NE, police said.

Dan Butkus, a 36-year-old Sussex County resident, has been missing since Friday, May 16, his family said.
Butkus was last seen leaving his apartment in the 500 section of Stonegate Village in Stanhope, his aunt Peggy McNichol Peterson said. He left his wallet, cellphone and glasses behind, Peterson said.
